Search the Franklin Court Docket

Start with the paper in hand. The citation or notice you received names the court that actually holds your case, and that name decides where your Franklin court docket search goes. Franklin Municipal Court keeps city traffic, parking, ordinance, and code matters on its own docket. Cases filed in a county trial court travel a different route. Check the city citation channel first for a municipal matter, then verify the court date and your response options with the city clerk. Turn to the Williamson County case system only if your document names a county court, or if a Franklin case has moved there on appeal.

Searching the Franklin Court Docket

The official Franklin citation page sends municipal docket searches to PayYourTix. Keep your citation handy, along with the personal details the court has on file. One caution applies: a Franklin city citation will not necessarily show up in Williamson County TnCIS, so don't expect it there.

  1. Confirm that Franklin Municipal Court is printed on the citation.
  2. Open PayYourTix from the official city page and select Tennessee and the Franklin jurisdiction.
  3. Search with the citation number or driver-license number and the requested matching details.
  4. For parking, use the citation number or vehicle tag.
  5. Before paying, confirm the setting and any plan to contest, correct an offense, or seek driving school with the clerk.

When no online record appears, call the Franklin clerk rather than running repeated county searches. Some entries are newly filed or corrected, and staff review may be needed before the docket reflects them.

Franklin PayYourTix Search Fields

Franklin's portal asks you to pick a state and a jurisdiction before you enter any case details. Those controls matter. They separate a specific city citation lookup from a broad name search across the docket.

Driver license numberTraffic citation lookupCitation or license number is required

Remember that the portal also takes payments. Spotting your entry on a Franklin docket does not mean paying is your best move. A payment can resolve the case as a guilty disposition, and it may clash with a hearing request or driving school.

Franklin Municipal Court Basics

Franklin Municipal Court handles city ordinance cases and traffic and parking tickets. Fire and building code matters land here too. Business rules, noise rules, and other municipal laws round out the docket. You will find the court at Franklin Police Headquarters, 900 Columbia Avenue, Franklin, TN 37064. The clerk answers at (615) 794-5362. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The city clerk can confirm a Franklin court date. The clerk can also walk you through accepted filing and payment methods, and point out which parts of a Franklin court record are open to the public. Legal advice is off limits, though. Email franklincitycourt@franklintn.gov if you prefer. Call ahead for language help, disability accommodations, or current building procedures.

Two Franklin Docket Calls

Franklin splits its routine calendar by whether a case is contested. Uncontested dockets run on the second and fourth Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. Contested dockets land on the second Thursday at 7:30 a.m. The city's information sheet warns that court starts promptly, so plan to arrive early.

That schedule never replaces the date printed on your own citation, notice, or a later order. A reset can move your Franklin case. Confirm the exact day with the clerk before you drive in. The same information sheet covers local rules on attire, phones, seating, and food. Those rules bind the city courtroom, not the Williamson County Judicial Center.

Note: A payment or compliance step can cancel the need for a scheduled Franklin appearance, so ask the clerk to confirm before you skip one.

Court Dates and Settings in Franklin

A Franklin setting tells you when a municipal matter comes before the court and why. Read both parts as a pair. Then check the whole thing against your most recent notice.

DateThe cited or reset Franklin Municipal Court date.
TimeThe 7:30 a.m. docket start or another time stated by the court.
CourtroomThe court location at Franklin Police Headquarters.
JudgeThe judicial officer assigned to hear the city matter.
Setting TypeAn uncontested call, contested hearing, trial, or compliance matter.

A calendar label is not a result. What happened lives in the court file and its orders. If you miss a Franklin setting, call the clerk right away, and don't count on an online payment to cure a failure to appear.

Franklin Citation or County Docket

The word "Franklin" can point down two different roads. A citation filed in Franklin Municipal Court stays inside the city system. Meanwhile, the Williamson County General Sessions calendar carries a Tuesday Franklin City Police criminal docket. What controls your first lookup is the court name printed on the citation. The agency name alone does not.

Keep this split straight and you avoid false dead ends. City portals and county TnCIS are not one merged Franklin docket search.

Traffic Tickets in Franklin

Traffic and parking citations in Franklin follow different lookup and response rules. So read the ticket before you act. Phone payments run through PayYourTix at (866) 339-0646. The city takes specified payment forms in person and by mail, but never mail cash.

The city fee sheet dated August 27, 2025 lists $159.50 for truck-route, littering, and other ordinance violations. Parking runs $21 for a first violation. A second costs $31. Any later one costs $51. Those dated Franklin figures are not universal. Confirm your current total on the citation or with the clerk. Payment plans and indigency forms are both available through the city clerk.

Before paying: A moving violation for which driving school is sought should follow the Franklin clerk and judge instructions first.

Franklin Correctable Citation Paths

A no-insurance citation can be dismissed at no cost, according to Franklin's published instructions. That applies when coverage existed on the citation date and the cited person appears on that policy. Send proof through the clerk's approved route. Be aware that buying coverage after the stop proves nothing about the required date.

Other correctable offenses also call for proof and confirmation. When the official instructions tell you to submit proof or request driving school, don't pay first. A clerk can name the filing method. The clerk can also say whether your appearance still sits on the Franklin docket. Only the court can rule on the matter itself.

Where Franklin Cases Go

Franklin Municipal Court takes the city-level cases. Anything above its jurisdiction belongs in the proper Williamson County court, even if the incident happened inside Franklin. Appeals work differently now. A Franklin City Court appeal heads to Circuit Court at the Williamson Judicial Center for a brand-new trial, and the city court itself plays no part in it.

Docket flow: Franklin Municipal Court › Williamson County Courts › Circuit Court, 21st Judicial District of Tennessee

Once a paper names General Sessions or Circuit Court, switch to the Williamson County court docket route instead of the city one. If Circuit affirms the city judgment on appeal, Franklin's own published guidance says the original fines and fees still go to City Court.

Franklin Court at Police Headquarters

Here is a detail that trips people up. Franklin's court sits inside Police Headquarters at 900 Columbia Avenue. It is not at the Williamson County Judicial Center just because that building also carries a Franklin address. Weekday office hours run 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Franklin's published material covers dress, phones, food, ADA access, and language help. For current accommodation and arrival details, ask the city clerk directly. Leave county parking and security assumptions at the door. The city court promises no visitor parking.

Public Franklin Court Record Access

A municipal docket may be public, yet access still has limits. Public access to court records is governed by Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 34, which preserves restrictions that law, rule, or court order impose. The Tennessee Public Records Act route also backs requests for existing public government records.

Key rules:

Rule 34 permits inspection of public court records while protecting confidential and sealed material.

Tennessee Code Annotated ยง10-7-503 presumes qualifying public records open to Tennessee citizens, subject to legal exceptions.

Juvenile, sealed, safety-sensitive, and protected information does not become public merely because a Franklin calendar exists.

When you ask the Franklin clerk for a docket sheet, order, or another named record, give the citation number and a date range. If access gets denied, request the legal basis in writing. County court records must go through the county clerk that actually holds them.

Franklin Court Record Details

A Franklin docket entry can show the citation. It also lists the alleged violation, the setting, the status, and later action. It rarely tells the whole story. For a certified copy, only the official custodian will do. Hang onto any payment receipt, filed proof, or appeal paper. It helps the clerk find the right Franklin record.

Read search results with care. A trial date on the calendar is not a finding of guilt. A missing public entry proves little. It shows neither that a case never existed nor that it was dismissed. When the portal and a paper notice disagree, call the Franklin clerk.

Franklin Docket Checks Before Court

Start any final Franklin check with the newest citation, clerk message, or signed notice. Confirm the document still points to Franklin Municipal Court. Then match its date against the Franklin docket information. Ask whether the Franklin matter is contested, uncontested, set for proof, or set for trial. Those labels change what the court expects from you. Save every Franklin payment receipt, proof submission, email reply, and filed paper. Portal screens change. A saved record lets the Franklin clerk trace what went in and when.

Cannot find a Franklin citation online? Call the Franklin court office with the citation number, your name as printed, and the date of issue. Never post private data in a public message. If the clerk says the case moved to Circuit Court, switch to the Williamson County case lookup. Use the new case number. If the citation stays with the city, keep going through the city route. This one jurisdiction check saves real trouble. It keeps you from paying the wrong office or showing up at the wrong building.

Franklin visitors should sort out accommodations before court day. The Franklin sheet covers ADA and language assistance, though current arrangements come from the clerk. Arrive with time to spare for the building process. Follow the current Franklin courtroom rules. A repeating calendar time never overrides a later notice. Whatever the most recent valid court direction says controls the Franklin setting.
